From a Student Perspective: The Exciting Launch of the Beats for Relief University Program

Hi everyone! My name is Morgan Klein, and I'm a student at The Ohio State University. I'm incredibly passionate about music, art, and making a positive difference in the world. I’m excited to share my perspective on the new Beats for Relief University Program and why you should consider getting involved.

Discovering Beats For Relief

This summer, I had the opportunity to intern with Beats for Relief, an organization that uses music and art to support global causes. I got to plan and manage an open mic event called "Tunes For Teeth," which supported Global Dental Relief. Seeing everything come together was incredibly rewarding and inspiring, and it made me want to keep working on projects like this.

The event was a hit with students, thanks to Stoke Travel and Safestay Hostel. Stoke Travel auctioned off trendy prizes and promoted the event to their student followers, which helped us reach a lot more people. Safestay Hostel, a favorite for student travelers, hosted the event on their rooftop and many of their guests joined in. Their help was key in making "Tunes For Teeth" a success.

Student Insights

Ava Lewis, Junior Studying Finance:

“As a finance student, I often struggle to find time for creative and meaningful activities. I think Beats for Relief events offer a solution, allowing students to stay involved, make a positive impact, and have fun simultaneously. Participating would not only enrich the college experience but also demonstrate a commitment to community service and social responsibility, which can be impressive to future employers. College is about balancing studies and social life, and a Beats for Relief event provides the perfect blend of both!”

Grace Holzman-Hansen, Junior Studying Psychology:

“I had an amazing experience attending a Beats for Relief event while studying abroad in Barcelona. It was not only fun and meaningful but also a fantastic opportunity to connect with other students who share similar values. I believe bringing Beats for Relief to our campus would be a great idea, as it would provide an enjoyable way for students to meet, engage with important causes, and build a stronger sense of community.”

Rebekah Moore, Senior Studying Veterinary Sciences:

“Being part of the Tunes for Teeth event was such a special experience. I am overjoyed to have been able to help raise money for Global Dental Relief and the opportunity to meet the different local artists who were volunteered their evening and talent for the cause. This would be such an amazing event to carry on to my college campus! As a pre-veterinary student, I would love to partner with Beats for Relief to hold an event to raise money for animal health in Memphis, TN.”
